Goodbye January!

Thank you for all your donations to our classroom store. We have lots of things to buy and sell. We will be introducing money next week. So if you get a chance to discuss money, or let your little one make a small purchase and get some change, that would be great. We've been busy this week, as you can see!

Moving Right Along

Whoops, we didn't make our blog deadline last week, with the PD day last Friday. But we've been very busy in the classroom. Web are focusing on measurement right now. How much longer, shorter? What is taller, bigger? What is heavier, lighter? How much do I weigh, how tall am I? We are continuing our investigations about penguins. We have our "Question of the day", each week that gives us so many authentic opportunities to discuss sentence writing, make math estimations and answer adding or subtracting questions. It really is our favourite time of the day. Also this week we are just beginning a game time at the end of the day. We play Snakes and Ladders, Candyland, Trouble, etc. There are so many rich learning opportunities that can come from playing games. Thanks to the families who donated games to,our cause.

Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone, we hope you had a wonderful holiday. We are all happy to be back in our Early Years Classroom and getting back into our routines. Our hot soup program is up and running four days a week. Each day Monday through Thursday, they can have chicken noodle, vegetable, chicken and rice and hot chocolate, if they choose. We ask them each morning. If you know they are ordering soup, please remember to send a spoon. We are starting an inquiry about penguins and we've been learning lots of fun facts! Thank you for the donations of games and puzzles, we could use a few more games, if you have some, you no longer use.
