A Great Week!

What a wonderful week we had! We had lots of visitors to our classroom, future Malden students who are enrolled next year came and spent the morning with us, all week long. What a great experience, our students were so helpful and friendly and welcoming. 

The weather was awesome for most of the week. We got outside to play in the sand, paint with water and chalk and play our musical instruments. As always we had a great time in our classroom.

Buggy bugs!

This has been an exciting week in Early Years. Our butterflies hatched, they are Painted Lady Butterflies with orange and black wings. On Friday morning we released them and set them free to live in nature. We also went on a bug hunt this week, in our school yard, to look for insects. We also did some cosmic kids yoga, we love yoga!

May Days!

We enjoyed a cool week at school this week and with the crazy weather, we've had lots of students sick with coughs and colds. Hopefully the cool weather and sickness will be behind us soon! This week we enjoyed walking with the entire school to celebrate fit week. Our caterpillars have made their cocoons and now we wait for the beautiful butterflies to emerge!

Welcome May!

We celebrated Music Monday with a school wide talent show. The Early Years group displayed their wonderful musical talent singing with our school choir to open the show. We went on a hunt for sticks and grass to create a habitat for our caterpillars. We are going to watch them as they progress through three of the four stages of their life cycle. They are in the second stage, caterpillars, we hope to see them make a chrysalis and the emerge as a butterfly. We were also busy making a special, surprise (we're not telling!) treat for our moms.
