Remember in November

On November 11th our classes attended a thoughtful and somber Rememberance Day Ceremony put on by the Grade 8s. It was very well done and we were very proud of our little students and how well behaved and respectful they were during the ceremony.

Healthy eating is still on the menu, we are talking about the four different food groups and what groups the food we eat on a daily basis belong in.

All of our friends in JK/SK can recognize their first names and most of them can print them independently. So we have to challenge them. Every morning they now have to find their last names on the carpet to put in the pocket chart. It was a bit of a challenge at first, but at the end of only the first week, almost all of our friends now recognize their last names!

We are learning about our five senses and having an especially fun time with our sense of taste. Some brave students are tasting lemons, onions and pickles. You can hear a friend's heartbeat with a stethoscope!

We are always making patterns and building with blocks. It is great to see how interested in writing the students have become.
