Happy Earth Day

To celebrate Earth day we planted grass in cups and we are growing it on our windowsill. A memorial tree was also planted outside in memory of Lynlee Guyitt. We have started a new daily math challenge table. Our first challenge is how many different ways can you make 10. We have a Tim Hortons centre in our room now. Thanks to Ben's mom for hooking us up with lots of Tim's stuff. Making tallies has become the new obsession for some of our friends this week. We have really enjoyed listening to the adventures of our Teddy Bears who are having sleep overs with our friends. We love looking at the pictures you are taking as well. We had an AWESOME week this week. Thanks for sending in all your awesome pictures.

Happy Easter

We hope everyone has a nice long weekend. It was a short but busy week. We decorated Easter eggs using shaving cream and food colouring, made some baskets and we made delicious Easter sugar cookies on Tuesday. It was so nice to be able to get outside at the end of the day for outdoor education. We found a crayfish outside, it was so exciting!

April Showers

We are hoping that April showers bring May flowers. This week we have been focusing on different ways to make the same number. For example, how many ways can you make 6? 4+2, 3+3, 5+1, etc.
We even try to trick them during our question of the day. E.g. What numbers make/= 8? 7You can ask your child simple math questions using numbers under 10 and encourage them to use their fingers to check!
